Pharaoh’s Curse

An ancient vase is the souvenir from this year’s holiday in Egypt. When you bought it, the  dealer warned you that the owner of the vase was under a curse from the Sphinx. But this  has not deterred you from buying the mysterious vase. Of course, you don’t believe in  curses and the souvenir is forgotten – until the day that strange and frightening things  take you out of your everyday life. The fear of being watched is now your constant  companion. Unknown voices sound in your head, leave you no peace and every night you are tormented by terrible nightmares. 

From your earlier history lessons you know that the archaeologist Howard Carter, who  discovered Tutankhamun’s tomb in 1922, brought with him similarly grim signs of a curse. A  few years after the sensational tomb discovery, many people involved in the expedition and excavations died, confirming the pharaoh’s curse. It is not in your interest to share this tragic fate, or to live your life with voices in your head and nightmares any longer! So, with the unfortunate vase in your luggage, you quickly make your way back to the land of the pharaohs to lift the curse. But the souvenir shop has disappeared. In its place,  archaeologists have unearthed the remains of the Sphinx Temple. This is said to hold the  ancient magic stone of the philosophers. According to legend, only it can lift the terrible  curse and save your life. 

By bribing the guard, you manage to buy an hour in the temple to find the stone. When you  enter the temple, one thing becomes clear: the rooms are familiar from your torturous nightmares. Don’t let fear get the better of you, for the precious seconds are running through your fingers like the sand that surrounds the temple.
